Only you, Presence,
dance the last dance of God’s day within you –
the day reflected upon the surface of the night sky –
for your day in the Lord has come to an end,
and the thirteenth hour has arrived.
But when the twenty-fourth hour within you is done,
you will no longer be able to stand or endure;
you will only know
that you were not born to live for yourself,
but so that others may live.
